From the Providence Journal:
Making music takes on a whole new meaning for someone like Bob Childs, who has been a maker of fiddles for more than four decades.
Beyond crafting the wooden instruments and coaxing a unique and rich sound out of each more than 100 hours go into each instrument and he has made more than 160 in his career — Childs has also spawned a whole new fiddling subgenre through Childsplay, a group of dozens of musicians each playing an instrument he built.
