The best one that I know is "MPEG Streamclip"
Best of all, it's free :)

LOL- oops.  I use imovie 06 (on purpose- because of the transition plug-ins that are available).  I am still curious why u would use additional software when it is included in imovie already. My instructions are certainly wrong for the newer version, but it's there….  is it better ?

When I record remotely I'm not using iMovie as I've yet to figure out how to drag the iMac into the yard/woods lol. I tend to get in thee habit of doing things the same way and forgetting about the different applications. Thanks to both of you!

Hey, I have a question on Violin 1, bars 9, 21, and 29: we have the three high Bs that come down to G natural, but in the next bit there's no natural sign for the G played. But when I listen to the music, I swear I'm hearing a G natural not sharp. Is it sharp as written, or natural like all the other positions in the song?

The rule in sheet music is that the accidental applies throughout the entire measure. It is only written once in every measure and applies to all of the same notes until the next measure or until a new accidental cancels it out.

did I hear that in measure 33 that the  (what i am assuming is flat accidental) is not supposed to be there ? (violin #4)  AND ! measure 24 !- the A, and the D (especially the D) seem to come out of left field so much, that I can't bring myself to play them.

:/

My worst problem however is with measure 36, and 37-  I can't figure out that timing at all (and that makes me very sad !)

I am having a hard time with this whole piece- I don't mind because in my own small way, and Belizean timing- I am learning.

FM, you have the ensemble sound bite, is there any way you can break it up into each of the different parts? The melody is pretty easy to discern but I'm trying one of the other violin parts tonight and am having trouble hearing it amidst  the rest. Thanks!! :D

Leana, the G is a natural throughout the whole measure.

As far as I know, there are no mistakes in the part.

An accidental is a sharp, flat, or natural sign placed on a note that is not a member of the scale noted by the most recently applied key signature.

lady eclectic, I had planned on recording the parts but guess if I have found some time. :(

IMAGINE THIS !!  I am psyched !  I just listened to the click track for the first time- in my ear.  I find it easier to read along, and follow the timing now- lets see if my fingers, and sound follows suit !   :)

Leana, you're SO not alone!! I set up my iPhone to record while I played through the click track today; it's not the first time I played with the headphones (others were nothing short of disastrous!) but I thought that I had this, that I was doing so well.

Hello, it was TERRIBLE!!! Lol, I didn't even listen the whole way through, just deleted it about fifteen seconds in. :D

I'm really enjoying the song and doing fantastic with it UNTIL I put those headphones on. Which, of course, means I'm going to be using the headphones a lot when practicing from now on. ;) Gotta get used to hearing the click track and still be able to play decently, keep stumbling because I lose my place or forget what goes where!
