(68 votes) This project is finished. See former instructions and get your parts for this project below. Stay tuned for next project.
All interested violinists and violists are welcome to learn the parts arranged and available here on Fiddlerman.com. for the Bile Em Cabbage Down International Youtube Project.
At the end of July members will record themselves individually a click track that will be posted here to create a memorable Bile Em Cabbage Down International Youtube Project.
Download the appropriate part or all the parts and learn them as well as you can.
Record yourself using the Click-track in ear not audible on the recording and SPREND the file to pierre@fiddlerman.com (Do not email any files to me, they will be too big)
Deadline for turning in the audio or video files is for now, July 30th. Please spread the word to everyone you know that plays the violin. The more the merrier.
If you don't wish to be seen just record audio. I will mix the parts first then add the video. There is a possibility that not every video will be seen but all the appropriate audio from the video files will be. Sending me a video gives Fiddlerman.com the rights…

OfflineWow … I have to go all the way down to viola 4 to find a part with no double-stops, a technique I have yet to even seriously attempt. This project is not for the faint of heart.

I can't wait for the companion how-to videos, to see if I'm making more of this than it really is.
In the meantime, I'd better go look at some online videos to see how the tune goes.

I'm with you HC on the double stops, but I can't wait to try.
I also have to check Youtube for videos because I've never heard it either.

Sweet…I Youtubed the tune, just to get an idea of what the song is…and i like it. If I get my fiddle soon enough count me in..if not, well— You can at least count me in for the Christmas project…fingers crossed for fathers day.

I think I'm going to put them into finale and make a midi so I can try to play along.Any idea as to the tempo?
Don't waste your time Kevin, I have them in Finale and will put up both midi files of every part, combination of all four parts and I will also make demo videos.

Look at the double stops as optional or play top part first time and bottom second time.
Glad that you are all excited about this. We can dress country too. I encourage anyone with farms or animals in the background to use them in your videos. If you have friends that want to play percussion with spoons, pots…. (use your imagination) while you play the video, or even jam with several friends (as long as you use the click track) that would be fine.
We will pick a nice tempo based on what the majority wants.

Sounds fun. I don't know if I'll will do this project or not. Depends if I can get my porch finished before my husband leaves for two weeks for military training.
I hope you get that porch finished in time, I feel guilty about the last video. I'm the yellow guy here —-->

The midi parts are up but I after spending 1 hour trying to get it to sound like a bunch of fiddles, Finale forgets all the information when I saved it as a midi file![]()

I see everyone is onboard when you suggest it
Hey Barry, I am still working on Angelina Baker! I am about halfway on being able to play it. That just puts me two projects behind on old-time jamming LOL. I can't help it, I am a slow learner.
