The music store by us even sells washboards. Does that tell you where I live.

Absolutely. I want it in and of course you will be a part of it.
I'll write or demo a real simple part that you can play provided you work on your bow strokes. I think if you can learn 3 notes you can be in the video.
Half notes = A, D, A, E, A, D, quarter notes = A, E half note = A
This pattern over and over throughout the video.
Actually only one fingered note and the other two are open strings.
(For those who don't know, half notes are 2 beats and quarter notes are 1)

That would be the corner of the kitchen behind the sheet where you keep your washtub Kevin! [Sometimes known in fancier houses as the "bath room"]

GK, for the last project I submitted my video and sound separately, but my problem was noisy kids, not clucking chickens!

Only three notes? Surely I can manage that! Count me in, but I may need that demo vid, lol. I think my chickens cluck 4 notes!

At measure 13 on violin 3 I cannot seem to keep my third finger out of the way. I am trying to play the doublestop with forth finger on the D and second finger on the A but I can't get it clean.  Is there another way that I am not seeing?

The only other way I can see would be to go to 3rd or 4th position to play the C# and play the A open.

My 9 yo is working on part 4. It is mostly about rhythm. I think Pierre's demo vids will be very helpful on this piece for those of us with minimal-to-nonexistent music reading skills.  smile

I haven't decided which part I am going to tackle - doggone but they all have a lot of notes!dazed

Don't worry Clint. I didn't say double stops. Seriously only 3 notes and one at a time. I just said two of the three notes are open strings. The A and the D string. I was referring to rhythm. Half notes and quarter notes.  So you only have to learn to play an E in tune with the first finger on the D string. No double stops. thumbs-up

I made a click track early this time. This is the track that we will be using, tempo and all. Let's get an early start. I plan on making demo videos this coming week.

CLICK TRACK - for recording in unison - download, save, practice with, and record while playing in-ear. Bile Em Cabbage Down - Click Track - to save, right click (control click for Mac) and choose "Save Link As".

Everything for this project can be found on the link off the home page.
Get involved in the next International Group Project with, "Bile Em Cabbage Down".

Actually after I figured out how to read the notes, (courtesy of the vids and piano examples Pierre provided) I think I am going to try to tackle Violin 4 as well.  It is day 5 of my fantastic violin playing (or as my wife calls it, "Owwwwww, my EARS!!!"), I think I can do Violin 4.  It seems easy enough, but who knows?  I know I feel good about doing it, I just hope everyone else feels the same way!
