I was reading this article today, and thought I would share:

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/.....ts-y-.html

I clicked the link and took the test. Since I have no shame, I will fess up to scoring a 9.75 on pure tone and 10.75 on piano tone. I will admit, I was pretty much randomly guessing!

Do any of you have absolute pitch?

That was rediculous, I had no chance. i didnt even complete it. I got to work on FMs tone game more.

The thing to remember is that absolute pitch is when you can hear a note without a reference point and correctly identify it as A or Fsharp or whatever. Relative pitch is easier but I still can't do it.

I started taking the test and my wife made me turn it off. It was a very irritating sound. That being said, I didn't like that the tones that I was hearing were different octaves and they keys shown were only one octave. I only started the test and never got past the first tone recognition thing.

That is the topic of lots of discussions among my friends, my teacher and me. I have an acceptable level of relative pitch and totally unacceptable level of perfect pitch! roflThis test proofs it as well.

So, Dyonysia, apparently, i have "No Shame" much more than You! My results:

Name
Naska G
Pure tone score
3.25
Piano tone score
5.75

So that's why my teacher always wonders, how come, that i can play reasonably in-pitch and have no idea, what note i've just played =) I'm hopeless - no pitch memory at all!

How do you think, guys, is this a pathology? Will i survive?
ROTFFLMAO!!!!!
