These tricks always get some great laughs from my colleagues. Use caution when shooting the conductor though. They may not have as good a sense of humor as you do. LOL
The over tuning the E string trick won't work if you don't have a hard edge to put the string up against and place your violin against the edge slowly so as not to damage the string, violin or chair.
To get a good machine-gun sound keep the bow stick real close to the bridge for a faster speed and more control.

OH mon Dieu!

I was squealing in fright when I heard the wood munching/beaking sound even though I was sure it was a trick, my heart almost stopped surprised I'm so practicing this one. Thanks for some fun on a fiddle Pierre! 1st-place

LOL amuse I like the eating the violin trick. Pink Panther is playing in the background. My favorite tune to play in high school. I wish I can play it again but I lost my copy of the sheet music.

Ya, Pink Panther is real fun to play. That is from my quartet in Sweden, TEMP quartet, a long time ago. We actually did that very performance on a TV program and that is where I got the recording.
We just took the first letters in our names and played around with those four letters till we came up with something that made sense and this did in so many ways…..

So far I've managed to shoot all kinds of conductors without ever being caught by the conductor. Sometimes the conductor wonders why so many people are laughing though.
