I received New strings today from our Gracious host. I will change them out tomorrow on 3 different instruments. I'll try and record myself with the same piece this weekend with a Before and an After. I look forward to this little project. I also look forward to trying anything with the Fiddlerman Brand on it. I'll post my findings and feelings when its all said and done.

Thanks Again Pierre. I was floored you provided for all 3 of my "screamers"  hats_off

I finally had some time this evening to change the strings out on my Lorenzo Violin. I did play a short piece as a comparison. I was going to play one on the new strings, but they are stretching just a bit. So, I'll continue to tune them tonight and get a video out by Wednesday. As my Family is leaving for 3 days, I'll have lots of time to make all the noise 3+1 strings can manage :)

I will say, at a first glance, the A nd D strings are a tad bit thicker then the ones I had on the instrument. I don't think they are as high tension either. That is certainly not a bad thing. They respond really well. In fact, The Lorenzo is notorious for making any G string sound really muddy and out of place. The G string of the Fidlerman Strings do not sound too shabby. I'll list the strings by comparison when I post.

I'll change the Stainer's Violin strings out this evening after I practice. I'll see how it fairs for tuning in the morning. I broke out my Korg tuner, so I'll see how far they drift when I get home tomorrow from work.

I found that out about the G string also. Especially in 2nd and 3rd position.

I was too tired to replace the Stainer's strings after practice last night. However, the Lorenzo didn't lose a bit of tone over night. Even the pesky "G" position string was still in tune. It was still spot on as per the chromatic tuner this morning. You kind of expect that with synthetics, a rapid "break in" period. When I used Dominants or D'Addarios, they seemed to take much longer to break in. I'll see if it loses anything while at work. Tonight I'll see how long they take to break in on the Stainer for sure.
