I am already posting a lot on these forum topics; I can already see how much more I'll learn within a week!

So I really want to photograph my instruments but I'm iffy on whether I should take them outside and do so. Right now it is very cold (36 degrees with 40% humidity) and I'm probably not going to be taking pictures today since I just checked the temperature; but I would still like to know what temperature/humidity would be best to take pictures in, what precautions to take while doing so, and basically anything I would have to know to keep my instruments safe from harm.

You mean the humidity? 40 - 60% should be fine.
I would take your case with you and let the instrument accumulate to the temperature before opening the case and when you come back inside, wait a half hour so that the instrument can slowly get warm before opening again.

Thank you for the reply! So sorry for this late reply, but the humidity has been good around here but it's been too cold I am getting a little nervous about doing these photos.
