Back in June I was 239.2Lbs or 17St 1Lbs

Step 2. Lose weight

Step 3. Book Tour for best-selling "The Violin Diet" book? amuse

Good for you, Sam! I bet you feel better, too!

Congratulations Samuel. smile I've lost 30 pounds in the past 8 months and it's due to changing my diet. I cut out milk and deserts. In fact the only dairy I can't quit is cheese.embarassed I eat as much as I want and as often but mostly raw foods. Not fanatical about eating raw food but fanatical about not eating deserts. Fortunately I have never really had a sweet tooth.

Congratulations to you too FM, I also do not suffer from a sweet tooth, but cheese and crisps and cracker and bread and pretty much everything else which is unhealthy are my weaknesses.

My main problem is I love food and my job and daily life provide no exercise.

I have been keeping my self to 1500 calories a day, it's not easy some times especially when I am feeling low because eating always makes me feel better. But I'm doing it for my little girl and there is no stronger motivation than that!

I was a smoker for ten years as well until recently. But I have found it surprisingly easy to quit that as well now that I have her perceptions to worry about.

Don't cut down on food, replace it instead :-)

Glad you have your daughter as motivation and you are real lucky that you were able to quite smoking. clap

LOL Suresh,

Personally I still weight the same now. I kept those 30 pounds off. Used to weight around 180 for the longest time but now I just don't eat deserts except for fruits. Don't eat dairy except for the occasional cheese which I find is very hard to give up. I eat a lot and often..... Nuts, greens, fruits, berries, and I feel great most of the time, except for now with this darn cold dunno

We don't see Samuel as often now a days.......

How about you Suresh?

It's not deserts that are bad, it's what you put in them! You can make very healthy low calories deserts that will add to your daily portions of fruits/milk/even veggies! (orange and carrot cupcakes nom nom).

I also found that my kiddos were a good motivation for me to get healthy.  In the past year and half I've lost almost 40 pounds and gone from a size 12 to a size 2.  I did it by eating healthy (which was pathetically hard for me to do!).  I always made my 2 and 3 year old eat healthy and as soon as my oldest was able to start questioning why I was eating different things than she was (and by different, I mean garbage) it was a huge wake up call for me.  I also started running, lost a lot of weight that way and when I plateaued from running I incorporated kettlebells which are fun and helped me tone up a bit.    I seemed to plateau again, so now I am on week two of some crazy ass work out program called Insanity......  Let's just say, it's appropriately named!!!  Every part of me hurts!!  I couldn't even hold my violin up to practice after putting my ankle biters to bed last night because my arms are so sore!!!  I'm excited because I violin book that I ordered is supposed to come today but I'm not sure that I'll be able to lift my arms to practice!!  LOL!dazed

Since we are talking AWESOME accomplishments...I have been smoke-free for 2 months now!

Yea, for me!  And congrats Samuel.  I need to lose about 40 lbs and I'll be very Happy.  I was at 195lbs, then remarried and now I have gained 40 lbs in 2 years.  Not good.  But first step, get rid of the cigs, next step get rid of the weight.

If you DO smoke and then finally quit, just think how much money you'll have to spend on violin stuff.thumbs-up
