So, like the topic name says, which tunes do you dream of playing? I hope you post links to youtube so that we can hear them
I'm asking beacuse I am curious, but also because I think it is exciting to be introduced to new music. Regardless of genre, I hope you will share your favorites with me and everyone on the forum.
I can start with my absolute favorites.
I have at least two melodies I really want to learn when I am good enough.
nr.1 is the schindler's list theme. I guess that I'm not the only one This is played by Itzhak Perlman. Stunningly beautiful.
nr.2 is Partita nr2, sarabande, and I saw actually that Fiddlerman shared the sheetmusic for this one. So thanks FM, I will use it when I am ready:) The link is actually a lecture by of doctor and violinist Robert Gupta, named "between music and medicine". I recommend watching the whole lecture:)

I want to learn to play "Faded Love":
It is the song I hear when I think of the fiddle.

I know most won't make it through this whole piece..but it just really pours so much into my soul.
I would be happy to play any violin part with Hilary.

Thank you guys for sharing these videos:) I enjoyed every one of them
@dionysia , I really liked that version. It's not much I know of Patsy Cline, but she is the one who sang the song "crazy" ? I also really like the muppetchickens:)
It was amazing how well she played @StoneDog . And she managed to bounce around like that while playing. I think this is a great goal and a great tune. I will search after more of her on youtube
@Mad_Wed , I'm speechless! I especially liked the bit from 1:20. Amazing violinist! I really hope you will be able to play that:)
@OldCrow Who wouldn't want to play like that!. Great video:) But it is possibly the weirdest lyrics I have ever heard! lol
@coolpinkone I love Hilary Hahn. I made it through whole, and I will do it again. This was right up my alley. I have been a little uninspired for a few days, and this video made the inspiration come back:)

I already wached Jackfiddles video on the forum, and i liked it very much. Beautiful melody, and I hope I will be able to play like that one day:)
@screeeech I love that melody. I got the sheetmusic to it, but I'm not ready to play it yet. I understand you want to play this one. absolutely fantastic!

Sorry I am late to the party, but fashionably late I like to think. Frequenzy that Tedmed speach was amazing. My mom has a brain dissorder caused by Limbic Encephalitis. This was brought on by kidney cancer of which she is completely recovered. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L.....cephalitis Her main trouble is the lack of memory of certain things mostly short term. Her minds ability to take unrelated memories or non existent memories and mush them together to make things quite real to her.
She plays Oboe and while she may not know where she is or what the date is...she hasnt lost her ability to read music and play. Very inspiring to me actually. This is part of the motivation of my musical obsession.
Anyways, while she isnt as bad as some I thought the TedMed speach was rather interesting. thanks for sharing.
What music do I dream of playing, ha ha all of it! There is so much out there that is simply amazing to me, across all genres.

Those are my first choices but as I said there is much out there I wish to play!

@Picklefish
Excellent choice on the guitar. I remember trying to learn this when the movie first came out. I was only mildly successful. I have quite a large collection of tablature's/chord progressions for guitar - including Cancion del Mariachi (which was actually written and performed by Los Lobos - a band who is far better than the the tracks that made them famous - this one and 'La Bamba'). If you, or any other guitar players would like to obtain said collection of guitar tablature, let me know.
Hello pfish:) Sorry for the time it took me to reply you. I think music can help us in ways we cant imagine yet. My sister is a musical therapist( I don't know if that is the correct translation, but it was worth a shot ) She foucuses on using music to help improving the life of psychiatric patiens, elderly people suffering from dementia, and children with various problems. It is really facinating to hear her talk about it.
I'm sorry that your mother has experienced so much problems. It must be hard on you and your family. I read the wikipedia article that you posted, is it a tumor that is the cause of her problems? It is amazing that she still is able to play the oboe. The music must work on a different level in us humans? How do the doctors explain that she still is able to understand music?
Adadgio for strings.. Thank you for reminding me of this. I was wery moved by it when I played it, and I'm not easily moved.
It was a bit of a contrast when I played the other videos I didn't know Antonio Banderas had a musical career? It is good to be obsessed about music:) It is so much to be obessed about out there, and music must be one of the healthiest choises Thanks for your reply and the videos
