This morning I was reading up on Old Time fiddling styles and found this that is pretty interesting. The site has fiddler tabs and audio examples:

Yeah, it is unique to find good audio samples on the shuffles.

I doubt however that there are common fiddlin' styles for a given tune but I never really noticed.
