@Panda-P I don't have a camera yet but here is an older video of a pretty good example. I live in Florida and when I had a teacher I went to the best Fiddler in Brevard County! He taught me so much when I first picked up the instrument. The video below is from another famous FL Fiddler Elan Chalford. Watch both him and the woman on the end. At the beginning his arm/wrist are a bit tense and straight, but he slowly loosens up. Watch the woman on the end when the camera goes to her, she's doing it very well.
It may be hard for you to recognize but it is clear they are playing with their fingers and wrists and the movement in their arms are just following what their hands do. Elan's form in this clip isn't as good as he normally does it. But you can get the point. Watch the woman's hand, it's a better example.
I was taught to play the violin just like I was painting the wall. Move my wrist up and down with my elbow at my side (or at least pointing at the ground with minimal space between it and your side).
Hope this helps. I'll try and find more videos and/or get a camera one of these days.

I used to watch this woman's videos as well, her form is pretty good. You can see how the wrist is never straight and is always higher than the arm even though she plays on the E string for half of the song.
