I learned Tennessee Waltz this week and kinda started ist playing something random that sounded pretty good that I've been developing.  Also have some questions about G string ugliness.

I would suggest that you try practicing with your eyes closed a few times while focusing on what you are hearing. Also, that you take a few seconds to hear the piece before beginning a performance. Your playing gets better and better after you get started.

Lastly, work on bending your right hand (bow hand) pinky just a bit. It will help you be more flexible in the future when your technique gets better.
