Hello again,

This is “The Happy Farmer” from Suzuki Book 1. This wasn’t the greatest take but decided to upload because it is the only take by the tree. Any suggestions for what to work on? This is about month 7 or 8 of picking up the violin. Excuse the messing up at the end ?

Well done !   clap

As a still relative beginner I have no real suggestions (other than I suspect you are more than ready to move onwards in your violin-playing journey !)

I liked your economy of movement and bow-distribution.

Keep up the good work ! thumbs-up

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Bravo @ryonass and greetings to a fellow Marylander!

I don't have any suggestions, but we are at about the same tenure in our playing so you are giving me something to shoot for! I thought that you sounded great, especially for 7/8 months of playing!

Just curious if you are taking lessons or self taught.

Greetings @CyndieZ! Hope you are staying warm in this cold Maryland weather.  That is kind of you to say. I started taking lessons around the 4th month mark and I've been taking them twice a month since.

I am rather impressed by your technique. After only 7-8 months and your bowing is perpendicular to the strings. Also the left hand looks good!

What are you listening to in the headphones when you play? Is it the Suzuki accompaniment or a metronome maybe?

Thanks for the kind words @Raef ! I have been feeling overwhelmed by the violin lately and that is nice to hear. I have the metronome playing in my ear.

These instruments have a tendency to do this - just remember who is in charge !  roflol

Have a good new year and continued progress on the devil's own instrument !

Ah, this evil instrument, lol. It does have a habit of doing that to us. But it's all worth it in the end :D

I'd say that is pretty impressive for only 7 months in!

I"m not familiar with that tune; parts of it sounded like "Red Wing" to me.  Keep it up, you're doing great!
