• Please begin by telling us anything you would like to about yourself. Age, place of birth, residence, etc. I turned 51 years old this year. I have an AA degree in music. Married, 4 kids, the youngest of them is autistic and taking care of him takes up a lot of my time. I was born in a hospital in western Pennsylvania. I have the somewhat dubious distinction of having spent the first year of my life in a barn. The house my father had just bought burned most of the way down just before I was born. So they temporarily moved into an old barn on my grandfather's land. I was too young to remember it much, but when people ask something like “Where are your manners? Were you raised in a barn?” I can say “Well, yeah.. At least for a while when I was little. What's your excuse?” I grew up in the country, moved to a small city in western NY state where I have spent most of my adult life so far. So I'm basically a hick from the sticks. LOL

Nice interview Daniel, you've sure had an interesting and varied background.
So how many times did you wake up in the barn with an animal licking your face, fainting-1344

Hmm.  Don't recall as that has happened since some years ago back when I used to "drink a bit".  But that can do that to ye.

You can also end up wondering how you ended up in a barn in the first place and whose barn it is..

awesome writeup there Mr. D.

I brought my lunch so I could sit at my desk where I could sit and eat and read this on the computer... Thank God it wasn't as long as your posts! LOL

Daniel! It is no surprise that your article is well written and so very interesting. So nice to meet you and read about you. It is also another occasion to let you know what a big part of the Forum you have become and to thank you for countless times of assistance. I love that your wife was nearby when selecting your violin and wanted to upgrade you. That is true love... sharing a passion of music together to that extent is soul stirring. That really melts my heart. Thanks for the great read as usual. Toni

Well, thank you all kindly!

@coolpinkone  Yeah, maybe get a plaque to go under the pics that says "some old coot with a fiddle"  LOL  I'm not much on having pics taken.

And yes, my wife is one in a million.  First met when we were in a band together years ago.  She's a vocalist with some classical training.  Which sounds nice, but that also means that when she uses "mommy voice" it can stop traffic and large animals in their tracks. LOL

I love these as well.  They tell us a lot about the people on here andy why they may say the things they say.

I think these interviews really bring out the personality in us all instead of just seeing posts.

On a real hot day I wouldn't mind living in the barn. The tack room is always cool, it's got a fridge, a microwave and a coffee pot. What else do you need in life?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about you, as I will others I've communicated with. BTW, our hair and mustache is exactly the same color! The bad news? Look at my username...lol...guess that was TMI. Just kidding anyway. Hmmm, or am I? Lol. coffee1
