Meet "ozmous" from our forum.

• Please begin by telling us anything you would like to about yourself. Age, place of birth, residence, etc.
Hi! My name is Keith Ferrer, I am 16 years old, currently living in the great country of the Philippines, I have wide sets of hobbies from the depths of physics to the greatness of music, I am currently taking a bachelor's degree in engineering because of my fondness in robotics and electronics, I'm also independently studying physics, I like reading books, anything to stimulate my sense of adventure, I don't like science fiction, even though I love science, I am never interested in sci-fi tv series, movies, etc. and despite loving electronics, robotics, and computers, I never liked computer games...just don't know why :P .

• What made you decide to play the violin?
I actually forgot what made me want to play the violin, but I think it was because I wanted to play an instrument because I was greatly 'jolted' by some music at that time, before that, I never actually had an interest in music until I've listened to "old time" music, well, not actually old like classical era, but "60's" music, the reason why I never had interest in music… READ MORE>>>

Nice interview, @ozmous ! Interesting and fun responses. It's nice to get to know you.

You live in the Philippines? How did you and your friends and family fare in the typhoon? I hope you and your loved ones are OK.

Oz, it has been great to get to know you over the past year. You continue to impress me with your manners, education and  love of the violin.

If someone asks me what is wrong with kids  these days..I can say, "nothing, check out this Guy!!!"  Bravo to you!

Your comment on what music means to you..

"For me, music is something divine, like the language of God, it’s a perfect beauty, one of the greatest achievements of humanity."

I am flabbergasted and emotional over that.  I have been waiting to hear something like that for a while.  wow.

Thanks for the great interview.  I am TRULY inspired.

Cheers

Toni

Stay on track, practice as much as you can, learn anything and everything you can about anything and I see great things in your future.

Unlike those few younger adults we hear about in the news that are basically worthless, you are an asset to the world, your community and all us violin players/students that have come to know you.

Beautiful interview and you're quite mature for your age. Computers and robotics are a very good path to follow as I'm sure you are aware of their place in our society from medical to law enforcement to military applications. They are all around and above us, that field is in the beginning stages of it's development and you can be assured it will continue to be a money making and very rewarding field of study.

You're an interesting fella Keith.  Good interview.

Being a Philippines resident, were you affected by the typhoon at all?

Never mind maneuvers, just go straight at them.

I too really enjoy these interviews.  It's fun getting to know my fiddle buddies.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.
