Any violinist or violist no matter what your level, is invited to learn the parts and participate in the Fiddlerman's international Pachelbel's Canon group youtube project. All the parts for the project are available for download below. Your videos will be due sometime in the middle of April.
Participating members will record themselves individually using this click track and send the files to Fiddlerman who will create a memorable combined youtube video that you can share with all your friends and loved ones.

Download the appropriate part or parts and learn them as well as you can. Participate in learning together with other members if you like via our forum. Post demo's of yourself for critique, feedback, or just for the heck of it.

Record yourself using the click track in ear (not audible on the recording) and SPREND the file to pierre@fiddlerman.com (Do not email any files, they will be too big)
Deadline for turning in the audio or video files is not entirely decided.  Please spread the word. The more the merrier.

If you don't wish to be seen just record and send audio.  Fiddlerman will mix the parts first then add the video. Sending your video gives Fiddlerman.com the rights…

Hi sunshineb,

The click track is an MP3 that you can download to an ipod, or whatever MP3 player you have. Or....just listen to it on your computer.

How the click track works:

When doing it for a project you will need to use ear buds or headphones to listen to the track, and record yourself playing along with it.

The headphones of course allow you to hear the track, but it won't be heard on the actual recording of you playing it from whatever microphone or recording device you're using.

You can make a video, or just a sound recording - your choice.

Then when you sprend your recording or video to Pierre, he'll compile and sync everyone into the final video and make us look like stars.....lol!

Hope I explained it in an understandable way. If not, don't be afraid to ask more about it.

Almost forgot - If you're having trouble hearing it from the link, try right click and open in a new window or tab. That's what I have to do, then it opens in my windows media player.

So I hear in the click track the violins counted in in different places, do the Violas start from the beginning or come in later ?  also, what does the big circle at the last bar mean ? not familar with that notation

@Barry  , are you playing the 1st Viola part?  if so, i'm assuming what you're referring to is the large sideways "I" symbol with an 8 above it at the end of the piece....

the "I" is actually a 'whole' rest that is that is carried across 8 measures (thus the 8 above it).  you will see the same rest used at the end of viola 3 & 4, the beginning of Viola 2 and as well as at the beginning and/or end of the violin parts as well ~which is why you are hearing the staggered entries of the violins on the click track....

Awesome!  Though I too am confused by the big circle with the ' mark over it at the end.  Never seen it and can't find it on muse score so what does it mean?? :P   Hopefully this time I won't have a bunch of crap come up that prevents me from getting this one done! :D

The big circle at the last measure or the last measure before the multi measure rests in some cases, has been determined to be a half measure rest or 2 beats of non playing. My browser shows it as the rest and not a circle which I cannot see. Vince and I figured it out since his internet hallucinates and mine does not. Pfish.

try using a different browser, update your browser, try downloading it to your computer and view it in a pdf document viewer there. Vince was using Firefox, I am using Chrome. if that helps.

Also,  Pierre you might want to check Viola 1 Sheet music.  15th Measure and 106th measure both have notes that are too low for Viola.  5th Measure 2nd note is 1 note lower than Viola. 106th Measure 2nd note is 1 note lower 3rd note is 2 notes lower.

So should I just re-tune my viola to A on C or..... :P

lol

I'm going to go ahead and jump in this time around.  At 6 months, I should be able to play some of this with a bit of practice.  I'll ask my violin teacher as well and see if I can get her to participate.

"I know a girl who cries when she practices violin because each note sounds so pure it just cuts into her, and then the melody comes pouring out her eyes. Now, to me, everything else just sounds like a lie."
