I'm currently working on the backing track and should have that ready this week. This time I mean it.

Let's set the deadline for the 1st of November so that we can start a Christmas project right after that.

Thanks everyone.

By the way, here is the Playback file. Please let me know if you find any problems with the file so that I can correct them ASAP. I have not tested the file with sheet music. Just created it and posted it.

It's all on the main information page for the project as well complete with directions and such. Main Project Page

I've gone through it quite closely, even matched it up against a vln 1 part taken directly from your score (voiced as piano as it happens) and played from MuseScore, and the playback file looks and sounds perfectly OK to me with dotted 1/4 note tempo = 56.  Perfect. thumbs-up

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes.

Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

Oh wow! I thought you guys pushed through with this last June but I'm glad you didn't so I can join in (I didn't have time to practice before).  I'm really excited, this will be my first project too!

My neighbors probably want to strangle me for all the noise I've been making.  But hey, "no pain, no gain" right? Except, they feel the pain and I get the gain (I'm really sorry, neighbors :-S)

@Jols - that is awesome - and sure - I don't know your playing level - but - honestly - play reasonably in-tune and in-time to the clck/backing track and if the double-stops are too difficult - just play one or other of the ds notes - really - it is ALL COOL - just record something that "sits well" with the backing track - for example Vln2 doesn't HAVE to be precisely to the sheet for Vln2 for example - if some fingering is "difficult or awkward" do something that harmonises...  not a problem, you'll be fine

GREAT to have you on-board !  ( Pierre / aka Fiddlerman - has been seriously busy these past few months but it seems we're back on track... )  1st-place

@BillyG Yeah at my level I don't think if I can play everything according to how it's written (but I sure am going to try!) But if it's really way beyond my skill level then knowing these tips and tricks you just mentioned will hopefully help me 🙂

Yay, I am ready. We even have, ahem, winter up here now for the videos (it snowed today). I will attempt to film outdoors and we will see how it goes.

@Jols - You are more than welcome to join us. The more the merrier. Don't worry about your level so much. Just do your best and I am sure that it will be fine. I usually balance the audio according to intonation and timing. If someone plays badly out of tune I simply lower the volume. Think of it as the equivalent of a person playing in a large group and playing slightly softer so as not to destroy the sum of the group.
I am grateful for all submissions and happy to have many on the video.

I need to work on this. I will sincerely try to find a level to participate in this project.

I kept trying the Violin one on my own.  I wish on days like this I had a teacher.  That being said I will try to see if I can do any of the back of parts.

Am I correct that if one can't nail the double stop just play the note on top and it will be okay.

Happy Project People.

That is very, very good to know!

I will be swamped with work in the next few days so I did the best I could and finished shooting the videos for Violins 4,5, and 6 today (yipee!).  I merged the videos to "test" them before I could send them out... it was so cool to hear myself play three different pieces all together.

I am super excited to hear and see the final video with everyone in it! violin-1267

Now that my brain is back to normal and not so foggy, I am going to go back to this and see what I can do with one of the easy parts. Being careful about timing isn't one of my strong suits, so I really hope I can get it, haha. violin-student

Great. I'm glad videos are going to be coming in. I'll keep an eye on this thread before the cutoff. We have 3 members videos as of now.

Pierre, I sent a dropbox link to a bunch of videos last week.  Did you receive them? Don't want to miss out on the fun.
