Hello there, I'm Andrew I'm from north east England.

I used to play violin in primary school ( 8 year old-12 year old) as a school program, but when I left for secondary school I couldn't continue for lack of funding, now at 27 i have the means to self teach and so found this site to get me going.

The only thing I'm finding hard is where to start,I have picked some things back up right away like bow hold, holding the violin, basic although far from perfect finger position, but as far as reading sheet music goes or playing with any real sound its a bust.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks and hole to learn and grow with you all 😀

Read through this page to begin with. I also have a lot of nice games for learning to read music both rhythm and fingering as well.

As we speak I'm actually Going through the Pieces on G string  a few times,i think ive been sort of overwhelming myself or over thinking things, so 1 string at a time with fingering and the sheet music, also good for getting my arm and hand used to the position again

Have driven around the countryside in NE England. Some very nice scenery around there.

I'm sure that you will be back in the saddle in no time. As you know, it's a matter of practice :)

Welcome Andrew.  There is a lot of info here from Fiddlerman and a lot of support from us!  So hang around, and practice.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

Hi Andrew, from Shalespeares county. Hope you enjoy the site and your big comeback

I was born with nothing,
and to my surprise I still have most of it left!
