Hi Everyone,

I am very happy to pintroduce myself here. I have been reading the Forum for quite a long time but never took the time to say a few words about me. So finally I am doing it today.

I am from France, 37, and started learning the violin in August 2015. I am learning mostly by myself using suzuki books and other violin methods. I did have a teacher for 3 months last year and I enjoyed as well.

In my youth I played the piano 2 years and the guitar 2 years, which I gave up. But I am never gonna give up my violin! (to the regret of my hubby!!!)

Hi Audery, nice to meet you - and hope you have fun joining in with everything here. My husband is also subjected to my playing, fun for me, and sometimes painful for him...

i am like you and Mimi...my poor husband is also subjected to playing. He is a good sport and never complains as I practice almost everyday. I do sometimes use a mute or play the silent violin...but anyone who plays knows that's not any fun!

It takes a lot of motivation to learn on your own but you and so many on this forum appear to have it. The forum helps motivate as well. Sharing your progress, interest, and ideas, all lead to more playing and a more interesting journey.

I'm glad to hear that you are not going to give up the violin.

I have a solution for all three of you. You know the saying, "If you can't beat them, join them"..... Maybe it's time for them to get with the program, right???
