Hi guys, im a newbie on the violin as you read lol. I got started by winning a bid on ebay :-) . I saw it and thought there was no way I would win the thing, it was said it was  handmaid, hand inlaid perflins, and antiqued. 30 dollars was the price lol, so I bid and won. I found out after I got it that it is actually a handmade violin with hand-inlaid perflins, but a pearwood fingerboard. It sounds good,(to Me and family), and had a petina over the thing, parafin it turned out to be. After cleaning it off, it sounds great. Sorry to be long winded but it was in March when I got it and I started my violin "career" lol then. I dont post often and dont log very often to this site but I have sent FM a couple of notes on the wrong forum......sorry for that lol, but I hope to be a good learner from you guys and thankscrossedfingers

Isn't e-bay a wonderful place sometimes? I love shopping there, but not too often... you see... I'm addictied to violins and like a great many members here on the fourm we all seem to to be in denial.!facepalm

Well, we're all recovering violin players... always wanted to play and now that we have the chance we don't look back... You're going to love it here...

Of course you know you'll never be happy without a violin in your hands from here on out. thumbs-up

I didn't know what that was and after reading this post I went back and found it in my trash. LOL

I get a lot of distributors from around the world sending me pictures of violins they want me to sell...

Here are the pictures that Jerry wanted to share:

Hi Jerry and welcome! What's that symbol on the tail piece? Looks like a lyre but I'm wondering what it symbolizes...the maker?

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.
