I will soon be offering fiddle lessons by Skype when my computer setup is complete.

Everything from beginner standard to advanced, in lots of styles - Irish, Scots, old-time, bluegrass, percussive, swing, boogie etc.

I will also be making short tailor-made tuition videos, based on an individual's needs.

I need to emphasise that this post has the forum owner's full permission (that's Fiddlerman, or Pierre, for those who don't already know).

I am posting this here because I am having problems with my own site.

In return for this, I will be regularly posting one of my existing Youtube clips here, on this thread, as a help to other members. Some are tunes played at normal speed, others are instructional, in that the tunes are played at normal speed, then slowed down. Other clips I have are either instructional, humorous, or are my own compositions. I would hope that you would not find my compositions funny, but one can never tell ...:)

I will post one every other week. I will eventually run down my Youtube account, and transfer the materiels elsewhere.

If anyone is interested in learning, or improving on their playing, or wants to learn a new style, please contact me here for further information :

Please do not send private messages from here, as it's not fair to be using any more of Fiddlerman's server resources than is necessary.

So, to kick off, here is my first offering. A video on the use of the shoulder rest. Do you need one? Or not? This may help you decide :

All the best!

Just would like to confirm that Jim made sure it was OK with me before offering lessons here. :-)
