It's Friday, and I just finished my 40minutes of practice. Having owned a electric violin for just over two weeks, I'm still working in the basics... first few finger notes, open strings, and simple things like Mary had a little lamb... Stuck with it so far, even after a long week.
Tons of violin songs out there, so found one that motivated me for today. This was it...

Beautiful songs!
Hey that plucking song is awesome. I will try that at the jam I attend - someday. I have plucked out notes on open strings at jam. I am just beginning to get the plucking on the fingered notes.

My Friday motivation was this guy...
Not that it was the best version of the song I've ever heard (though I do like his "straight" parts of the song)... But he's having such a great time playing.
And that sound.. It reminded me that it has been a while since I set up a mic into the mixing board so I could put on headphones and hear myself play on acoustic violin, but with some seriously big and majestic reverb and a bit of eq. I love my gear. With that setup, I can close my eyes and play and forget I'm standing in the kitchen.. I'm off in a big mostly dark auditorium or concert hall somewhere. LOL With any acoustic instrument, it is one of the best things in the world.
He also reminded me that I haven't played "Summertime" in a while, and it is a great song.
So I had 2 or 3 hours of very enjoyable extra play time on Friday night, and that video was the motivation that got me going on it.

Here's mine for the day, hard to believe that one instrument is doing all this:
Man - I have missed a lot of posts as well recently - THAT WORKS for me... cool !
EDIT: Well yes, and as for the Summertime cover - well - that's one tune I "play" but will now give up on.... ( no not really - I'll keep at it ) -
Great thread, thanks go to the OP @Taper123
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)
