Thank you so much guys, I was a little afraid to turn on the computer this morning because I knew you'd all have seen my effort.

@Oliver ... you're damned right, this instrument scares the poop out of me, you will all know when I've got some confidence.

@Dave ... thanks mate, your turn, let's see you smile while you're recording this tune.

I will definitely take seriously all comments and suggestions.  Maybe when I've ironed out a few more problems I'll do an update.

I love you all.

Robyn  cheerleader

I was working on it this evening, I can't get through the tricky part with any kind of rhythm. (A poor excuse is better than none!) I will try again tomorrow evening.

I can't smile, I am lucky smoke isn't coming out of my ears!

Now I've got a message from Youtube:

Your video, Over the Rainbow, may have content that is owned or licensed by EMI Publishing.

Do we need to get permission before we try playing a tune?

Gimme a break.

dazed

I had a couple of videos hosted on youtube. They were slideshows with some copyrighted background music. I got a warning from youtube, then the muted the soundtrack. I tried to contact the musicians and the publishers to use the music in exchange for free advertising on the dvd's that I was giving away. I never heard a peep from anyone. That was two artists and two publishers.

Bravo, Robyn! You should be proud of yourself!

Don't be shy, like The fiddlerman said, let go a little, then you will be more relaxed and natural. Ooh, how cheerleadercheerleadercheerleaderI wish I could play!

Don't really understand your question Daniel. Where would you have an F#?

I see what you mean.

Yes, that would definitely be an embellishment. I am trying to keep the arrangements basic and common for the beginners.

Good idea though. You can definitely do that and other types of embellishments as well.

Thanks

In a side-by-side comparison I do not see that the 2 versions are different?

It's early Friday so I may not be awake so maybe someone can give me a clue?

I guess it is too early for me Oliver. New code name for Oliver is Daniel - new code name for Daniel is Oliver. dazeddazeddazeddazeddazed

By the way.  I welcome your bowing mark style because it forces me to think about use of the bow ( i.e. long bow ) and therefore preparing to do more on one bow without sounding spicatto (sp?)

That's good training, I think.

I like your bowing directions on the music Perrier. I tried playing over the ranbow the way it was comfortable to me. Then I forced myself to follow your bowing pattern and the song flowed alot better. Plus it stretches me to learn more ways to bow instead of just sawing up and down.

Ok, here is my version of Over The Rainbow. I did not use the suggested bowings. (lazy) Robyn made me do it!

For those of you a little more adventurous I was asked to upload

Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the BumbleBee"

I wrote this for string quartet a few years ago but transposed it for 4 violins the other day to do the new Cecilio Electric Violin demo. ENJOY!!!!

Cool! David!

I tried the first verse with my violin, and I kept bowing on wrong stringcry.

I know, I need to learn to play the scale and all those natural notes.

Fiddlerman, I really love the bumble bee flight! It's amazing! I didn't dare to ask for music like Daniel, though, because I can't play yet! (the bow is so heavy!)
