Did my hours practice at lunch today it went fairly similar to yesterday. little improvements here and there, perhaps slightly less squeaking. Still painfully slow changes between strings when anything higher than first finger is required on the new string.
But I took the practice mute off for one go at twinkle twinkle and just one or two notes seemed to sing, lifted my heart and brought a massive smile to my face 
and once again I can't wait for my next chance to practice.
The early bird catches the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese!

Your know , I never thought of it but not being able to play anytime you want to probably makes you appreciate it more.
