Ok you guys all know about the dreaded 4th finger hehee. Some of us are having trouble with it and are working hard on unlocking it. Well I could barely place it on the fingerboard, even with the elbow more inside and thumb under the neck, it seemed my pinky was not flexible/too short whatever.
Now I can and I hit the string with a correct sound instead of a crushing of strings!
I browsed youtube and found a very simple tip: thumb hugging the scroll instead of an inch or more away from it. It allows your pinky more freedom so I can hit the string with the inside corner while keeping almost an arc, instead of flat flat pinky trying to reach it.
No need to tell you how excited I am! Suddenly Ode to Joy became playable, same with Brahm's Lullaby! Please try this tip if your pinky is your nightmare, it worked fine for me, it might work for you also! I'm so putting this in my next video progression.
