ROFL - we're just about to go away on a break.... my good lady doesn't yet know I intend to smuggle the violin aboard the car....

Any "advice" is welcomed from you chaps who may have gone on holiday and felt the need to smuggle - oh - like your golf clubs or fishing tackle aboard the car - and - on arrival at the destination go "Oh heck - would you look at that - I must have left them there from the last time...."

See you all next weekend, keep on fiddlin'

Bill

Hmmmm.. Ok, you tell her that you just packed it on impulse, because you thought at that moment it might be a romantic/sweet idea to be able to play for her at some of the places you're going to.. Then say "Sorry, I guess it was a really dumb idea.." and give her that look like a little boy whose goldfish just died or something.

Maybe a secret hidden compartment somewhere on your car. What kind of vehicle are we talking about???

What about just strapping it to the top of your car and tell your wife it's an extra luggage compartment for storing your sox / socks. https://fiddlerman.com/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-wink.gif

Why would she have a problem with you bringing it?

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

Thanks for the advice folks !

The prize 1st-place has to go to @DanielB for the disclaimer !

While away, managed to work on a new tune, "The Ball o' Kirriemuir", and a few practice shots at the Can-can party! Submissions soon !

Heck - I missed you lot - good to be back thumbs-up !

Welcome back Bill.

Look forward to your Can can submission and maybe even "The Ball o' Kirriemuir" :)

Thank you for the WB, Pierre, and also for your somewhat apparently reluctant desire to "maybe even" hear the old "Ball O' Kirriemuir" bagpipes-1254 ( just kiddin' with yah ) - I shall of course try to make it a worthwhile effort !!!!
Actually, the choice was from a suggestion by @OldOgre, who reckons it sounds like a good "drinking song" (not something we Scots are well known for, of course, so I need a bit of practice... fiddle, that is... )

Aye, it's good to be back!

Oh, and by the way - the Can-can is driving me insane - I just want to play it faster and faster to the point where my fingers lose synch with my bowing..... gonna have to have a word with @Barry for suggesting this one.... grrrrrr !!!

Maybe it helps if you dance the can can while playing it. LOL
