Today I was picked up by my great friends and colleagues to play "Carnival of the Animals" for the county schools – at the Dade County Auditorium. We left kind of early to avoid Miami rush hour traffic using the HOV lane to make sure that we wouldn't get stuck and make it to our 10AM performance. We were just a few blocks away from the auditorium when the conductor called us to inform us that their would be no concert. 

Apparently, a couple patches of plaster had peeled off the ceiling and fallen during the weekend. They made a smart decision to cancel all performances until further investigation by an engineer.
