There is no deadline as of yet but Barry talked about two months to give everyone a good chance to learn this piece.

Hey, that's an idea Barry. You asked me about playing the viola part to jam with. I'll do that with the backing tracks when they are ready.thumbs-up

I've been working on it but everything is so crazzy here. Not much time to work with it yet.  We are expecting some boarders for the winter and trying to get away for Christmas eve but can't seem to get all the fencing fixed the house decorated and the stalls set up.  When I do get a few minutes I just play Christmas music that I know how to play to calm myself down and relax a little.  Once the holidays are over I'll be able to make more time to play Red Wing.

I might try for a background accompaniment or a harmony line for which I can make an audition tape and you or the Boss can deep six it and no questions asked smile

However, it might help to know how many verses you plan to do ?

Sounds great, but I hope there'll be some help available.  I don't seem to be getting the double stops.  Will there be several different versions as per the Xmas project?

Barry's idea is that we should all play the same basic part but play it our own way as they do in jam sessions. As long as we all follow a click track we will be fine.
Can you be specific as to the help that you want? I'd be happy to do what I can. I hope there will be some progress posts as there were with the Xmas Project. Makes learning more fun. smile

Hit it pretty hard last week , starting to come together. Between work and Christmas the old violin is getting a bit of a rest this week!

Is that a good thing or bad? Do you even get any time off for the holidays?

I'm away from home (i.e. my instruments..) but I have done a slowed down version of a guitar only backing track that may be helpful. It is 109BPM(ish)crossedfingers which is around the speed Barry played in his demo. I count in 2 bars so you can get the pickup notes. Let me know if this was the feeling you are going for Barry and I can record the whole 4 times, OR we can use Oliver's as it sounds pretty good alreadycheerleader

PS. it is 440 Hz=A tuning
