The name of the music says it all.  It's a big file almost 10 MB and at least using safari ,it seemed to be uploading the file whereas using IE it instantly went to 100% uploaded. I'll try a small file

Oliver, it only plays for a short while because the file is so hugh that it has to buffer.  I sent the wrong file and this one is 10MB.

Thanks Kevin,

I will remove it now and the post since it does work. Works for me anyway. :-)

Was that a midi file Kevin? Hoping to hear you play cry Just a side note here Kevin, FM suggested on another post to make your audio only uploads at about 15 pixels tall so you don't have all that white space on the page.

Anyways an idea here, I have better recording gear at home now so I can make a much more professional sounding backing track to Red Wing and was thinking we could use it for the final video as well?? Either or I think we should do the song at around 220 beats per minute (around the speed that Barry and I play it). Mad Wed already mentioned she likes the speed too.

I'm going to be going on the road again Jan, 30th 2012 so I need to rap up my fiddle part within the week or so, so I can get He's A Pirate down by the end of the month. It's all up to you guys. If you need more time or whatever that's cool but I won't be able to upload anything during the month of Feb. If we want to wait till March for He's A Pirate I'm good with that.

Yes it was a midi file.  I set the tempo at 220 now.  I can't find anyway to set the height on the file?

Here's a guitar part slowed down a bit to 190bpm. What speed should we play this song at?

Here it is:

Seems like a good tempo for the majority.

I'm ok with first MGN's track and almost ok with that one... will be 190bpm oficial or it's for practiceduncecap? I'm asking because it will take a while to slow down now but i can handle it =)

I'll put in a vote. So 3 votes for 220bpm (I can't go faster than that right now on fiddle myself). And FM I can do a final click and guitar track and send the wav files to you if you want. I can do it in a day when we all agree on a tempo. YeeHa!

Naska, it is unusual that a person cannot slow down easily. It's usually the opposite. But I can understand the urge to play faster. I won't give a vote because it doesn't matter for me.

MGN, that is very kind of you and I gladly accept. smile

No problem. Get well soon. Just let me know what tempo and I'll get them to you. You can post them though as some members can't play the files when I upload MP3s laugh

If I were on the Board of Directors for this forum I would make a "pro" track AND a "beginner" track available ..... unless that would be too much work.

After all, I would guess that most of our 700+ members are really novices to whom this forum seems directed.  How many are scared off by the "fast" music?  Hard to tell.

I take it that is a vote for the slower tempo Oliver. That is fine. I am staying out of this :-)
Barry may have to decide this one. smile

No, no !  I can hardly do ANY tempo with my useless recording set up so I have no choice to make.

Just pondering about why "Bells" had only 18 participants as you reported.  There has to be a reason for that.

I would think that the opportunity should be more attractive.  Of course, I don't know how to predict what folks will do.

I was surprised too Oliver. Lot's of people are afraid to send something that is not good enough. I want it to be clear that I am not phased. I am happy for all participants no matter what.

Also, it has to do with marketing. I asked if members would spread the word but I don't know how many did it. I am providing a free service and can therefor not afford to advertise more than my time posting on Linkedin, Myspace, Twitter, Google Circles, Facebook, Blogspot, etc. But only those connected actually see it. Visitors to Fiddlerman either hang-out here or go to the lesson, videos, games or other tools or resources without reading what is going on.

All this said, the site is still growing fast. We have a lot of unique visitors every day and we should have more interested in the next project.
