Has anyone played the Barcus Berry BAR-AE from fiddlershop? I also found it on Amazon and they haddock some good reviews and some horrible reviews. Am thinking about trying to upgrade to it but am unsure.

I'm not surprised Alveraz20. I've played on some that have been well set up and some that are surprisingly poorly set up. When they are properly set up they are perfect for using along with a good amplifier and OK when playing acoustically. Another consideration would be the Mark Wood Acoustic Electric Violin. They are made in conjunction with Mark Wood's engineers and Howard Core in regards to set-up.
