bow practice through a D major scale
In the video I start by playing a D major scale, towards the end I'm simply combining notes to make my fingers find the right spot even when playing different patterns.

Here's a new video trying to spot what's going on with my bowing. It's not very clear, but I played with my eyes closed so that I'm not always looking at the fingerboard.

Two mistakes I realized were that I skipped one note while playing the scale. I think I missed the E and then I think the A was a bit lower.

Please comment, so I can keep working on this. After all, perseverance is all I have :D

Thanks,

JuanFiddler.

sounds great looks good, now all you have to do is relax your fingers and use them to pivot from string to string and you wont have to move your elbow so high. But, your form looked pretty good.

Much better Juan. It's obvious that you've been working on it.
Try practicing divisions of the bow. Eighth notes using the top 3rd of the bow on one note on each string. Don't worry about the notes just play the top third for 2-3 minutes then switch to the next string and do the same thing. Look at the hair going across the string instead of the mirror and focus on it traveling parallel to the bridge.
Then do the same exercise in the middle of the bow through all your strings, 2-3 minutes a piece.
Finally do the bottom third, same thing.
24 minute exercise if you do it this way. smile
Keep up the great work and good luck.
