A member posted a video a long time ago of a fiddler, don't remember what they were playing or who it was, that played so hard in that video that there were hairs breaking all over the place. Lost probably more than half the hairs.
I thought that it was Michael Cleveland or Charlie Daniels but I couldn't find it on a search. Also, I thought that the piece being performed was "Orange Blossom Special", but again, wasn't able to find that on a search either.
If any of you have an idea of the video in which I'm referring to, I would appreciate a link.

@Fiddlerman I think this is probably the one you are looking for.
Around the 4:51 mark you can see his bow hair breaking quite a bit, though it was pretty rough through the whole thing.

Seemed like, from the very beginning, in every shot there were more and more broken bow hairs. It's a wonder he didn't break strings.
I wish I could play hard enough to break just one bow hair.
When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,
I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

I remember early on, I was trying to "play in" a violin and spent two days really digging in on the strings. I think I broke six steel strings, but only a few bow hairs. I may not remember correctly though. I do remember that it was a waste of time.

Thanks Mandy, although this is not the video it's similar. The one I'm referring to you can see the broken hairs better and it's even worse. Thanks for finding this one. LOL
