@Fiddlerman Thanks I think I look completely awkward, perhaps bordering on creepy, lol, but I thought it would be good to stop watching my fingers so much.

@Fidelestre Thank you I really enjoyed learning this one, and have been doing extra work to get my fingers where they belong.

When I get comfortable enough to play outside, there is a neat little museum town of a few houses and an old church in our local Metroparks... it's only open a couple times a year, so the rest of the time you can just walk around the buildings, and usually nobody else is around. It would just be an interesting setting to make a video, and this time of year it would be good for a spooky one. They usually have it all decked out for Halloween with a haunted trail in the woods around it, which is usually left up for quite a while. 

So it's been 4 months since I first picked up a violin Next weekend I will do my first recital, where I will be the oldest person by way too many years. That doesn't bother me (I joked I'll tell anyone that asks that I'm 19, but didn't start playing the violin until I was 35), what is psyching me out is that I'm being lumped in with the advanced students.... it was that or play with all the little kids where I'd stand out like a sore thumb, lol. That's a little bit intimidating, lol.

Anyway, my teacher and I decided to do Harvest Home, me on the fiddle, her playing the guitar. I've got it up to a tempo I like, but listening to this video I can see I need to work a little more on my rhythm when not using a metronome. I should have tapped my foot or something to keep some kind of time in this, lol.
