It's much better than a video of me playing, it's my present nerd crush. She's pretty and makes entertaining violin videos it seems!

Hey it's Felicia! I'm a fan of her webseries and she even do voice acting in Guild Wars 2 (beta event #1 starts today by the way) ... I didn't know she played the violin, go Felicia 1st-place something else to love her for!

Yes I followed the Guild closely and Dragon Age-Redemption also, her character in DA is so different from Codex lol. As a gamer I relate a lot to the jokes and awkward situation in The Guild. Ever talked about some mmorpg with a friend in a  subway or bus? People look at you so weird. You know with all the kill the mobs talk lol.facepalm

I was a WoW player from beta until may baby girl was borne 14 months ago. Never had any real life guildies though and absolutely did not talk about it in public...

Probably would these days though.  I'll check out DA

The Guild is hilarious!  Felicia Day plays the violin in a couple of the episodes, I think???  I also used to be addicted to WoW until I got pregnant with my first kiddo.  Nothing like the reality of pregnancy and a newborn to break that Warcraft habit!  ;)

"I was talking to Chuck in his Ghengis Khan suit and his wizard's hat..." - Lou Reed

Sorry, I am listening to Lou today at work and couldn't resist! I am out of the loop on the rest of the topic though - I mostly play Toontown and occasionally Wizard 101 and that is pretty much it. tongue

I never heard of Felicia Day, I'll have to check that series out.

Dionysia, any day is a good day to listen to Lou Reed ;-)

I agree, solo Lou or Velvet Underground, but they are not exactly workplace-appropriate when dealing with clients!

OK, MGN - since we have hijacked Sam's thread here....

Thanks for that vid - I've never seen Velvet Undergound on vid. Whose rugrat I wonder - Nico's?

My favorites:

Venus in Furs

Sunday Morning

I'm Sticking with You (as far as I know, the only time Mo Tucker ever sings)

I am supremely jealous of my ex-roommate's collection of records, and her friend's brothers collection of original releases. That scratchy, dusty record sound is so much more appropriate than the squeaky-clean CD sound IMO.

Yep that's Nico's critter. I just tried searching for a video I saw before when Jimi Hendrix got back to New York after promoting the song Foxy Lady in London. His jaw dropped watching the Velvet Underground practice. I have to find that video....

Update: I have a huge record collection and agree they sound so much better than that squeaky clean sound. LOL for damn sure!

Sorry Terry -

You would need a time machine back to 1960/70s new york to get the full appreciation.

LOL MGN. The only reason I am able to really appreciate Lou and the VU is because my school was caught in a time warp and didn't know it wasnt the early 70's anymore.

Terry, imagine you are in a smoky dark pub near some infamous heroin den in the early 70's. Andy Warhol comes around the corner and you follow him to a small venue where an amazing band is doing things to music you never even guessed... And then suddenly you realize that drummer is a chick!!

The Velvet Underground was also a euphemism for the S&M culture. Fascinating part of music history.

For sure Dionysia... LSD and Heroin And sex with anyone around you was that scene. Some things never change, now it's rave parties with kids doing ecstasy... I like Dr. Pepper and some California grass that's about it but believe me, I've seen it all!!!!
