Nothing overly special. Just another tune I picked out by ear. Don't have my ornamentation figured out yet for it, I have a few all in the same place, the basics picked out and the rest of it needing some fancying up, haha.

But for whatever reason I'm enjoying getting away from sheet music lately and just working out things by ear. Kind of a nice break after staring at my etudes and shifting exercises I guess, haha.

I sure hope so (ordered on 2/14/17) my lessons begin in two weeks, but just in case I purchased an electric violin which I received Friday evening and I've been having a lot of fun playing it.  I'll be using the EE book and have already been doing the left hand exercises.   I can't wait for my Master to be shipped so I can begin playing it!

I'm sure you will play beautifully for your recital, please have a video of it for all to see?   We are very proud of you and your progress!

@Fred I'll try to get a video. My mom is probably the only person who will come to watch me, haha, and she's not that great with cameras, so if that's the case it will be lost to just memories like my first recital, haha.

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to play.. the format of these recitals is everyone plays on their own, and either use a backing track or the teacher accompanies on the guitar. So I at least only have to settle on something that'll last me about 4 minutes tops. My first recital I did Harvest Home, and I'm thinking of taking that and adding in The Banshee as a set. Even though the Banshee is a reel, when my teacher and I ran through those in class on Monday (we ran through a bunch of songs trying to decide what to pick) they fit well. Going into the Banshee after playing Harvest Home I added a little bit of a bounce to the rhythm (at least I felt like that's what I was doing, haha) and they just felt like a fun set.

Great job Mandy. You made it your own too. Also, your video editing is cool as well.

Keep up the great work. exactly

Thank you, @Fiddlerman 🙂 I don't like being in front of the camera, but I like playing around putting the videos together in editing, haha.

I find this hard to believe, you always look so composed with great presence in this video as well as on Street Jelly plus your other YouTube videos.

Me, too. I was very happy to catch it on Netflix and got to see it for the the first time in years. I think it might still be up there, might need to watch it again this weekend. fish
