OfflineFiddlerman said something in a post after that Andy Griffith clip that reminded me of something. He said something like "I don't like seeing classical players perform country with too much vibrato and perfection."
That just reminded me of something I'd seen on youtube once. Here is a cover of Dave Matthew's Ants Marching performed by an excellent violinist reading sheet music. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but this just made me laugh. the syncopation, the vibrato, the perfection. The arched eyebrow classical violinist face. (**the guy playing the guitar posted the sheet music if anyone is interested in learning to play it)
To be fair, I can't really imagine Boyd in a string quartet. I don't even know if he reads music.
