Aloha everyone,

I was watching that Paganini movie (Devil's Violinist, or some such like that) and liked the bar scene in England.  He walked into the bar and their band had a fiddler.  He borrowed the fiddle and proceeded to break three strings - at once - after which he simply told the band to continue, with Paganini completed the tune on only that one string.

I liked the tune they were playing when Paganini walked in and decided to try to write something along those lines - a good bar song.  Not one for singing, but for enjoying with a pint or two with your mates.  It's not very long, but you can repeat to your heart's content.

I've also included a version with four pickup measures (on the piano) that will give you a little time before the fiddle part starts.  You have the sheet music, the .mp3 file that includes both the piano and fiddle parts, and a backing track that only includes the piano.  Enjoy!

Piano only - with pickup

Piano and fiddle - with pickup (to get used to how it sounds)

Original version, without the pickup measures

@iBud - cool tune - thank you !  Already started playing along to it  4 or 5 times ( pure improvisation on my part, just "fitting something on to it" ) - love it !   I'll try get my "memory" around it and the timings ( I play be ear.... largely ) - and anyway I'm working with the piano + fiddle mp3 - so playing something "different" by way of improv is probably not a bad thing ( your backing will hide most of my faults! LOL ).   Once I've had another - oh 50 or so shots at it - I should have something close to reasonable and I'll post it !

Thanks again !

Bill

Aloha @BillyG,

I'm glad that you like this one.  I tried to make it as "fun" as possible, hence the piano background.  It has that bouncy feel to it.  I'm not good with lyrics, so I made it such that you could just sit back and enjoy this while also enjoying the company of your friends and some good brews.

I hope I didn't make it too hard.  Some of the syncopation could make the notes a little bit hard to play, but it really sounds good.

Oh I like this one.  Soooo, what would one have to do to get the music to it?  beg

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

Aloha @Georganne,

Look in the first post and you'll see two .pdf attachments.  One has the pickup measures, and the other doesn't.  Feel free to get whichever one you want.  PM me if you can't download them and I'll zag them to you.
