LOL Barry. I doubt it will be a flop. I noticed that these suggestions take time here on "Fiddle Talk". I think most or our users have not played the "Can Can" and need a little more time.
This is a piece that I've played countless times in previous orchestras.

Funny story: I put up that I'm going camping later, and my mom walks in
"Bad news, we're putting off camping for a couple of days."
RIGHT AFTER I put up I'd be gone for a little while. Oops.

So, here's my submission. Open in new tab.

I'd like to join in this one...just trying to think of another French folk song for variety. The only one I can think of is Alouette, though I just googled it and Wikipedia says that it's French-Canadian. Does that count?

If French-Canadian tunes are acceptable, that might open up a few other possibilities.

Either way, I'll need a little time to get one video-ready as I don't have a French or French-Canadian tune under my belt right now.

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

French Folk Song was one of my first songs but I've never played the Can Can.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

I recognized the first piece from somewhere.... then I remembered it's one I studied on my Learning 3rd Position book! It was in another key, I think, but same piece!

Thanks for posing the music!! I am using the Suzuki books and Brian Wicklund's American Fiddle books so I had never heard French Folk Song.

I was able to get the music printed off and record before the little guy even knew what I was doing!!

Looks like we have a party..Yay Barry.. Yay Panda. I learned Can-Can a bit in Essentials One book. I think it was the last lesson before I didn't have lessons anymore... good lesson in 8th notes... I should give it a go...or Diane's suggestion is good.

There was this French Drinking song I learned (to sing) ..it seems like it would be a good song. Now this goes back to my memory from 1982... Chavielle (sp?) de la Table Ronde.... or something like that... words like.. "Gouton Voir oui oui oui Gouton Voir non non, Gouton Voir si le Vin et bon"

Anyway.. I digress.. will see what I can come up with... I am a late bloomer...still working on SwallowTail for the STJ party. :)

Well, it was a long time coming - I have about 6 separate tunes on the go at once - no doubt many would say that's five too many. (So much music to discover, so little time!)

But here we are - my Can-Can Accompaniment - thank you @Barry for allowing me to play-along with your performance. This was great fun to do, and I hope my attempts don't overly detract from the original !

Using EV with small amount of chorus and reverb to make it sound a bit less sterile, mixed down along with your captured sound track, using Audacity. [ Oh, I cleaned up some of the clicks and ran a noise cancellation, but in all other ways, your original is untouched ]

Loving every second of this journey... fantastic...
