Hi all, I would like to suggest a new group project (to be led by Fiddlerman hopefully), and am putting this out here to see if there is interest.

A young musician named Albert Chang has done a very nice arrangement and has uploaded the musical score also.  It includes 4 violin and 3 cello parts, in addition to a percussion part.

Here is his video of the piece:

And here is a link to his music: http://www.mediafire.com/?efso.....ptg08t8fll

Please let me know who out there would like to try it, and we can see if there is enough interest.  Thanks!

Sounds like a great piece for a group project!

Too many flats for me to handle it right now, though.

Great piece! I'm interested in participatingsmile, but no guarantees that I'll be able to actually pull it off.

Yay! Great idea. :D The Rains of Castamere may be a nice song to possibly have a go at too?

I would love to do this.  I just can't figure out how to take a video and recording and send it on this iPad.  May have to go back to a PC.  Sounds like a fun project.  Thank you.

I've wanted to play this for a while.

I am working on a version of this for violin right now.  Hummm.. we will see. :)

I love this.  Started on playing a bit of it a couple of years ago.  I'd love to join in this project---would be so cool to participate.  I'm sure I'll need some instruction on the technological aspects of recording and all, though.

Fiddlerman, thank you!  I am happy to see the interest.  Now I will have to get to work to learn a few of the parts myself.

@makinnoise, I am in Calgary.  I think we should try to record a few parts in real snow, because, you know, winter is coming...

Are we going to use the provided sheet music or will there be a new transcription?

@makinnoise I'm so sorry your violin was stolen, that's a real ... . I hope it'll turn up again somehow.

We'll use the provided sheet music. It's a big part of the work. Who wants to ask permission for me?
Thanks
