yay...one sleep till Fiddlefest day.

I will be gone til 11:30  or so Cali time, then I will hang out and watch.  I have had running injuries and I didn't get to learn new material.  ( I play standing up)...even when I could play sitting down the painkillers had me so groggy.

Right ankle and left foot are healing up.  I am just happy to be a part of it all.   ;)

Awww, bother, @coolpinkone - you'll miss my intro - I had / still have a "special little tune for you" ( very short - you mentioned it somewhere else - not telling... ) LOL - but - given any free slots once you get online- I'll maybe jump in an play it for yah !  It;s a SURPRISE !   ( well, don't hold your breath...  but it should at least be recognisable ! )

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

PS.. I wouldn't miss Fiddlefest for anything... however.. I suspected it would fall on my Grand daughters 5th birthday party... and you know I will be cooking 4 dozen baby quiche tonight. :)

Have fun at the game, Pierre :)  @Fiddlerman

I've been sick all week and have barely been able to practice more than a few minutes here and there, so I feel horribly rusty, and didn't get to brush up on anything I had wanted to. My show is going to be less then stellar, but I'll still go on and muddle through, lol.

Nine and a half hours.   Nine and a half hours.  There was one un-used 30 minute slot in the nine and a half hours.   Oh, did I mention that the event ran for a consecutive nine and a half hours ?

Insane.

And awesome at the same time !

Der Ring des Nibelungen — Richard Wagner

With a total length of around 15 hours, depending on its musical pacing, renowned 19th century Germancomposer Richard Wagner’s epic masterpiece Der Ring des Nibelungen is a cycle of four linked operas — Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung. Although often performed separately, Wagner intended for the work — which is based loosely on the Norse sagas and the epic German poem, the Nibelungenlied — to be executed as a whole.

Uh-huh.   We're better than half way there......

I'll probably say more about it once my brain starts to function again.....   but for now, just a HUGE Thank You to all of you, players and listening-audience.   And a special thanks to those who did multiple sets to keep things rolling-along.

You're awesome guys.

And glad you managed to drop in @Fiddlerman.   Ace !

I may well go back to sleep.....  later's all

I'm sorry that I only caught a couple of shows, but happy that I was able to squeeze in a quick show myself. I had a busy weekend and thought I wouldn't have time and hadn't done any preparation, but when I got home I decided to run through some tunes with backing tracks. Seemed to go OK, so I scheduled a slot for about 45 minutes later and jumped on.

The only downside was that there was a glitch where I only had a couple of viewers at first because I didn't show up on the board. After logging out and back in again, I showed up and gained a few more viewers.

Thank you to those that tuned into my show and congrats to all the other players who performed throughout the day! I wish that I could have seen all of you!

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

I felt bad that you and Bill both had that glitch @KindaScratchy .. poor Billy played a whole show to one person.

But other than those couple glitches, I think the day went great :) I can't wait for next year :)

LOL - yeah bring on FiddleFest 4 !

Mehhhhh - no need feel bad about it on my part @damfino the one guest I had on the first of my 3 shows gave me two tips ! LOLOL     Listen - some days when I play, there are NO viewers !!!  It's probably due to my timezone when I jump-on at 8 or 9am my time - looks like the rest of the SJ world is asleep - and that happens to be the very time of day I can play like Garrett or Stirling - y'all miss out on it... LOL!!!!!   I'm well used to it !   Ha !   Do I care - no - I play on regardless !     I was of course seriously kidding about the Garrett/Stirling reference... ( Hangs head in abject shame for even mentioning their names in the same sentence as mine... LOL )

Anyways - @everyone interested in SJ -keep an eye open for an upcoming new post relating to SJ - it'll be something like "Fiddle on... SUNDAY!"   or something similar - based on my usual "Fiddle on..." shows - (which no one tunes in to ) - you heard what @Barry said during the FF event - we're planning to set up a sort of "impromptu session but do it on a Sunday" type of thing for the "regulars" to either join in or just watch....   more details to come....

Agreed - it is getting better year by year.... and the sort of "co-host" thing that's going on between myself and @Barry can both sort of spread things across timezones if one or other needs a break, and, also, our insane chat and our (friendly, and planned, intentionally slightly argumentative)  banter between each other is deliberately, delicately and consciously planned to keep you chat-readers on the edge of yer seats and bring a smile to your faces !!!!!  LOLOL

At the end of the day - it is YOU folks -players and audience - the rest of you - that bring it on !  Thanks to all the effort you performers go to to make it good !

You are all awesome for taking part and/or watching !   Thank you all ! hats_off

I was just starting to picture you dancing around, playing your fiddle, @BillyG haha

I am looking forward to the Sunday fiddling. It's something that will force me to get through my songs without brain-farting in the middle of them... which I tend to do sick or not, lol.

thanks to everyone. You are what make it fiddlefest !!  was very fun and loved the dedication of the players and willingness to do more then one show and fill slots..like Bill said..9 hours.  Lets shoot for 12 hours next year..as it grows year after year my dream is that one day violinist, fiddlers, violists and cellists from all over the world fill a days worth of slots

So,,I know we still have a TON of bedroom fiddlers here, lets get ready for next year  #goals

There is no shame in playing twinkle, youre playing Mozart

Yes thanks to everyone. It was a pleasure to watch and listen to. I was in a booth at a football game for some of it, but had earplugs and glanced at the screen between plays. Unfortunately the noise level was high at the game and I apologize for those whose performances I missed.

I enjoyed listening to everyone. :)
