I have had very little time on the strings these last few months blurry_drunk-2127. Really wanted to join this event but I think I only have 2 tunes committed to memory and maybe another 3 I can do off sheets. For anyone on after 8EST I'll be there for support..

Heyy Stevie - @Ripton - no problem -no pressure - ANY Sunday is good - we understand...   ( Bill starts a quick calculation what's 8EST ???   8pm EST or 8am EST - could be 2am the next day for me ( which, if you DO schedule in advance on SJ I PROMISE I'll stay up for ) or possibly 2pm same day - either is good my friend.... - if you plan to do a show - it doesn't HAVE to be a full 30 mins - just whatever you are happy with....  we're all there to support !!!!!   Good man - hope to see you there bunny_pole_dancerand, more to the point, hats_off

Sorry Bill, 0100 GMT on Monday morning. (which is 8pm here across the pond in Mass/Vermont). If I do schedule a show on the 11th, and play it will be most likely 2100 or 2200 Eastern time zone. Other Sundays I can do a show any time after 1600 Eastern.

No problem @Ripton - if I know in advance that folks are going to be on, regardless of the time, I do make an effort to tune in - even if it's 2,3,4am here LOL  ( OK, so I don't always succeed - but I have managed quite a few ! )

Looking forward to hearing you again whenever it's best for you - it's been ages !  thumbs-up

So very cool that some are keeping up with the Strings on Sundays.  I had my munchkins this Sunday and wasn't able to play or watch.    But when I am able to peek in to see you all playing it is awesome.

Strings on Sunday on StreetJelly - come along - join us - the show times shown here are local to the UK ( GMT ) - check the SJ calendar to see them in your own timezone.....

Hi all; I've been doing some setting up and testing on SJ (I thought it might be good to do a live session with the traveller when it gets to me) but a dry run with my own vso would be nice to make sure all is well with my set up!

How does one go about getting a slot that doesn't conflict with anyone else? Do we have some kind of rota going on? Obviously being in the UK restricts the timing a bit, as does the fact we have family round every Sunday until about 7pm.

@Jim Dunleavy If you're planning to play before/after a time slot of one of us, when you are logged into StreetJelly the calendar ( http://www.streetjelly.com/calendar ) will display the times in your time zone, and we title our shows "Strings on Sunday" so we can find each other.

Most of us play for 30 minutes (I'm currently scheduled tomorrow for 1:00 PM my time) but if you're just popping on to play on your own, you don't have to worry about scheduling for the same time as someone else on StreetJelly (meaning someone you don't know and aren't playing shows with).

If the time frame I'm on tomorrow works at all for you, you can pop on after me, I could stick around to watch your show :) More of us will be on Sunday the 19th for the Amateur Hour shows :) Right now I think I'm the only one scheduled for tomorrow from here :)

Thanks for that @damfino - I see you there at 6pm GMT, which is a bit early for me as our dinner guests will still be with us then.

I've scheduled myself in for 7.15 pm GMT (which I reckon from what you said above will be 2.15 pm your time). If you or anyone else can pop in to have a look that would be great - I only intend playing for a short time as the main aim of the exercise is to make sure it all works properly.

If it turns out nobody is about to listen in, I'll just try another day. Next Sunday maybe?

AWSOME @Jim Dunleavy - thank you for joining in my friend !!!!!!   Well Done ! thumbs-up

I read what you said  - I'll fill-in after Mandy and run on a bit till our UK time 7:15 or so - that's magic !!!!

As it happens, I'm away from home-base at the moment ( a "new house" well - it's a very OLD house - needs a lot of restoration ) - but it has better internet than we have at the current premises - I'll have to rely on the lappy inbuilt cam and mic which is never great - but I'll be there

As regards the scheduling - we have a kind of understood rule that we'll each do 30 mins - and- on a first-come-first-served basis - just pick a slot that ties on to the last one ( or avoids anyone else scheduled, and mark it as "Strings on Sunday" )

Looking forward to seeing you there !!!!!   Good man !

I just did a short 'dry run' on SJ with my wife watching on the laptop downstairs and everything seemed to work OK.

The setup seems a bit temperamental though, as the audio wouldn't work at first, then suddenly did, and I don't know why. So everything needs to be crossed for tonight!

According to the screen 4 people watched at some point (while I fiddled a bit and bellowed downstairs to my wife to ask if she could see it lol). Wonder who the other 3 were.

@Jim Dunleavy I think you'll enjoy it :) It's fun to noodle around on StreetJelly, and have another way to interact with people from the forum :)

See you there later :)

Well done on your first SJ recital @Jim Dunleavy !thumbs-up

The "scariness" will diminish over time - truly it will - and - the "fun" will grow in proportion !
