Strings on Sunday - revival !
SoS has been a bit quiet quiet recently - I've had too many other things to do - but it is now time for a revival of interest !
I have a StreetJelly session set up for Sunday 14th May - 8:00pm BST / 3:00pm EST
Anyone who wants to join in and play - just do the usual - pick a non-overlapping 30 minute slot on SJ, put it in the SJ "Schedule" so we all know about it, and join in !!!!
Hope to see you there!

This Sunday ( 21st May 2017 ) we have a very special Strings on Sunday on streetjelly.
I'm scheduled for 8:00pm GMT ( UK time ) - probably 3:00 EST and I'll be just doing my usual thing - BUT - right after me, at 8:30pm is Mr Jim aka @Worldfiddler who will be both demonstrating and playing The Travelling Fiddle -
Unlike most of us beginners, Mr. Jim is not to be missed !
Hope you can make it !
And, as ever, if anyone else wants to join in our usual Strings-on-Sunday thing, just schedule a SJ slot after Jim... (or any time on Sunday that suits you.....)

I've been around people with bad colds for a few weeks, and spending lots of time outside, so not sure which got the better of me, haha. I scheduled a show anyway, and if I feel too crummy I'll just cancel it, but I'm planning to play.
@coolpinkone I've never had a polished set list. I just play what I feel like my fingers are warmed up enough to do, and if/when I fumble I either try again, or move on to a different tune, haha. I almost always open up with Harvest Home since I can play that without thinking at all, and gives me something to do while I wait for people to join the audience, haha.

@damfino You are right... I have songs. Usually I polish them up a bit for Street Jelly.
What I mean is that I play songs about 10-15 songs.. over and over and how I like them. Usually before Street Jelly I will pull up the sheet to see if I have been playing a wrong note... or see how bad the timing has gotten. Because playing alone with no guide / or back ground music does lead to own's own interpretation.
But I have been alternating 2-3 songs in my practice session... besides after Mr. Jim.. I mean.. who'd be watching me.
Cheers.

It went fine Pierre !
I caught Jim's show - and yes - educational and instructive ! Thank you @Worldfiddler
Sadly, I missed most of @damfino - my PC was acting crazy ( I think it had something to do with some video-processing that was running in the background - I thought it would be good to record Mr Jim's show for the Travelling Fiddle thread, and my machine was clunking away doing something (brightness equalization or whatever) with the recording.... )
Anyway - the next Strings on Sunday is approaching - I've scheduled, as ever at 8pm UK / 3pm EST - as ever, anyone who wants to join-in is always welcome - just schedule a non-overlapping 30-minute (or whatever) slot, anytime on Sunday !

Yup - been kind of quiet on SoS for a while - largely my fault for being so busy and not promoting it or participating - but then again - life happens !
Good get-together last night (well, it was night-time here ) with Rob Van Neil, Barry Nelson, Amanda Anderson and myself - good fun as ever - and THANK YOU folks
Now life has kind of quietened down for me, I'll try my best to more actively "manage" and promote these SoS events....
