Cecilio offers two higher priced quality violins called the CVN-600 and CVN-700. The CVN600 goes for $399 whereas the CVN700 costs $499. I find both instruments well worth the price. This CVN700 has a sweeter sound and quicker reaction time to quick notes. Both fiddles can be played extremely high without any problems. This CVN600 has a more powerful overall tone though the E-string dominates slightly over the other strings. In my opinion they would benefit greatly if more precision was taken when fitting the sound-posts. I am able to see space under the foot of one of the sound posts. Keep posted for details on how you can win one of these fiddles and which will be the next on the raffle schedule.

did you put strings in these violins since you said they sent you seven violins without strings?

I don't remember saying that. What I meant to say is that the strings included on their violins are steel core strings which I am not that fond of. Luckily they come equipped with strings and everything else necessary to get started.

Hey, laugh with me but don't laugh at me, English ain't my mother tongue, so I don't get many of the slangs, metaphors, ....like "kicked the bucket" "cracked his nuggin" etc. i guessed it is funny though because I really thought fiddlerman had to go buy strings and put those strings on the seven violins they sent him. LOL

Any way, I'd really love to win one of those violin, too! definitely not the electrical one, though.

Well, pky, I hope you're laughing with us, because I had to look again to see where the string problem was.  We take slang for granted don't we?  And it's not universal slang, we have some completely different sayings on this side of the ocean.

Those violins look like great quality for a medium price.  I'll be checking out future raffles too.

And I hope the whole effort brings lots more people to this site, I've learned so much since I've been here, thanks to all the members.

Cheers

Robyn

Sorry!!!! Didn't mean to laugh at you. It was more like laughing with everyone after figuring it out. You must admit that it was kind of funny. You are right though, the violins could have arrived without any strings.

It seems like you have a good sense of humor and that is good.cheers

What is your mother tongue? <---- slang btw

You write English superbly. What does "cracked his nuggin" mean?

Thanks, Robyn, Daniel, Barry, and Fiddlerman.

I did laugh, I laughed till I teared, after I told my husband the incident and he explained what "no strings attached" meant in that case. It made my day!

Sorry, it's supposed to be noggin:)

My mother tongue? Haven't  you guessed? I'm a second generation Chinese in Malaysia and am proud to be one; currently reside in the USA.

my hubby proof read my mails, just kidding.

Changing my mind!! I rejected the word "electrical," which means loud, supper loud to me, so i rejected the electrical violin without even watching the fiddlerman's review -- BIG mistake! I just watched the video with my husband, and we both thought it's a very nice violin! so ... heh heh heh...I would love to win this violin, toowinkcheerleadercheerleadercheerleader

I'm also looking at an electric violin.  Like you, I don't want it for 'loud', I want it for 'silent', so I can practise without anyone being disturbed.  I keep thinking if only they'd produce a 'silent' bagpipe, then my neighbour across the street wouldn't disturb everyone within miles.  (I think his wife kicks him out of the house with the noise.)  I think it's really rude that he stands on the side of the road and makes that awful noise.  My violin practice sounds just as bad, but I would never put my neighbours through that deliberately, I'd love to do it silently ... and I could even practise early mornings or late evenings too.
