When I first ordered my violin I ordered two extra bridges from different companies and a new set of strings.  All of the bridges do this: GDA are almost co-linear so pressing on D makes it fall below G and A.  The G string just rides too high on the bridge.

I want to drop G halfway to E with an x-acto knife really, but with how specific bridges are shaped I'm afraid that will break how it sounds.  But it is electric so maybe it doesn't care.  Is this not a problem for everyone?

This might be a useful

There are several bridge making, shaping videos, pics and demos on the site.  I would link them to you but I can't find them all.

Saw another thread on the issue and yeah, it looks like a thing.  So if hacking up my bridge to make me happy won't mess up the sound, then hand me my longsword, ho.
