Like a cat being drug through the streets while being flogged with a strip of barbed wire.

The violin itself sounds fine. A bit thin compared to what I remember my old one sounding like, but that's likely A) the strings and B) the fact that my school violin was about 30 years old by the time I got it.

Gimme a week to work on it, and I'll post a video.

      Shiny! I like!

Like a black car, it's gonna show the dust!   You will have to play fast, keep the dust off.

Can't wait to hear it.

Yep. Shiny. I've already had a suggestion for flames. LOL.

LOL. I do like the idea of red pinstripes. That would be pretty cool.

I own a black violin in Sweden, couldn't bring all my stuff over, and it has red and yellow pin-stripes airbrushed on it. I'll try to get my buddy to pick the fiddle up from the music store and take some pictures for you guys.

Congratulations and have fun!

I see Dave's eyes popping out like when a crow seeing a piece of shinny treasure...

Sara, what do you mean by you have to wait till next year, when he upgrades his violin?

I was just teasing that I missed out on getting a violin on New Violin Day. Lucky for us any day is NVD if you have the cash.

Haha! I like the sound of that, for my next violin I want a white or antique one. One that is purely for aesthetics! laugh

And congratulations artroland! Are you planning on pimping it?

I think Dave gave a pretty good suggestion:

Like a black car, it's gonna show the dust! You will have to play fast, keep the dust off.

I may just have to do it up. I mean, it's an inexpensive violin, so why not? It's not a concert-quality instrument, so I may as well. I'll have to get some striping from the auto-parts store. :D

That is a shiny violin. Nice. cheers

Maybe I should paint my cheap beginner violin. I never did like its appearance and it also got black dot marks from a shoulder rest that sat on too long.
