So, I recently tried to use the Wittner center mount chin rest instead of the standard Guarneri model that came with my violin. I switched between them a few times, but ultimately decided to stick with the Guarneri because I couldn't get a secure grip with it. I'm thinking the center mount is just a little too far over and too shallow for me, so I've been looking at other models to find something kind of in between. Something that sits a little closer to the center than the Guarneri and with a deeper cup. So far, the Stuber chin rest looks good. If anyone has used this rest or has another suggestion, I'd love to hear about it! Thanks in advance!

I get a better grip with the Stuber chinrest though it looks like my chin is in the wrong spot because of it. I use my jawbone rather than my chin to hold the instrument. I feel that chin rests should be called jaw rests. I think it would be less confusing.

Yeah, I feel like I turn my neck a little too much to get a comfortable grip with the Guarneri and the Wittner is too shallow, so I'll probably give the Stuber a go. It looks a little taller than the other rests I have, which is good, because the one I use now is a little short. Thanks for the input!
