The final product is wonderful - I really enjoyed it! Congrats to all who participated! And a BIG thank you to Pierre ( @Fiddlerman ) for all the time spent mixing - I know that was a lot of work, and at a very busy time of year!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Great job playing everyone! And great production job, Pierre @Fiddlerman , as always!

I'm so sorry that I missed out on this one...this is the first Christmas project that I missed since joining the forum more than five years ago. :( Just too many things going on lately in terms of family obligations and other musical pursuits.

Kudos to all who participated! thumbs-uphats_off1st-place

Merry Christmas everyone! santa3christmaswreathchristmascandle

This was so much fun to do.  As a first timer and having not played in a long long time I was glad to be included.  I was inspired to play this at our church on Christmas Day and Eve.  With help from a good friend that accompanied me on the piano we got through it  Had some nerves, a few squeaks and  a bouncing bow but it was all good. Happy New Year to everyone.

I'm happy that most of you felt that it was successful.
I'm very happy with the result but disappointed in myself for doing everything much later than I intended to.
The parts should be ready months in advance as should the click track.
Also, I was planning on doing tutorials on all the parts and never did that.
Next year, please push me to get started much earlier. There is no harm in having the parts ready early. It doesn't mean that we need to push the deadlines for submitting the files.
Next year we will be doing, "I'll Be Home For Christmas" with about the same parts as the Rascal Flatts version. If you haven't heard it yet, check it out.

I thought everyone did a great job with it :)

You could pre-set a reminder in your computer calendar to remind you about next years project. Set it for a date you think would be a good time to start putting it together?

Wow....that was just lovely!  I really enjoyed it.   Very nice seeing some new faces as well as regulars!  @kindaScratchy too bad you missed this one!  One of these times I would love to join in!  (Didn't know about this one as I haven't been on in awhile)

Thanks everyone and big shout-out to Pierre, as always, for a great job putting it all together!  Merry Christmas!

This might be crazy talk, but what do you think about posting the parts now...or soon? That way many folks will have nearly a year to prepare, and new members can start working on it as soon as they join.

Just a thought.

I think that is a double-good idea @KindaScratchy - firstly, yes, as you say, it does give newcomers and beginners an extended timescale to practice and develop - and secondly @Fiddlerman - it really will take the pressure off you as well as giving other forum members the chance to step-in and possibly help-out....   I know my "animated score" play-along helped a couple of players, as well as others who brought in the other cello parts and so on - you are not alone, bro !  :)

One of the "side-issues" though is that posts on the topic (any topic) drop-off the visible top-ten list of recent posts - maybe worth some kind of sticky-post / item ?  I know it would be present on the home page, but equally, many folks just come straight in to the "Forum" page, so perhaps a sticky referring to the next project would be handy ?

Good idea, Diane !  thumbs-up

even if just the basic melody, part 1 for each instrument. Will give us slow learners more time to digest...

How exciting to know the next year song.  I play the traditional I'll be home for Christmas and it is a beautiful song.  I will be checking out this version.

I felt guilty not putting forth the best recording and effort, but it is always better to try than not.

I am thankful for the group projects and all the participation and all those that cheer along.

Thank you Pierre for the mixing and the time.  It was a whirlwind for us and for you but it is a BEAUTIFUL treasure.  I cried when I saw it.  Just because it is that special to me as this group is here at Fiddlerman.com

Oh, by the way :)

Do we get group project badges for this one? Though I see most of you already have that one haha

I would love to get started early.  The holiday season is so busy for me.  I would love to not have to cram to learn and then still not get to it in time.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.
