Those are two heavy factors to consider with a trip like this. Glad that you considered it. I would have loved having you there too. :)

I am very sad to announce that we had to cancel the fiddlerman cruise because of too few bookings. We needed a certain amount of bookings by the 20th of January to avoid loosing our deposits on 20 rooms. Many people contacted us with interest but did not follow up.

If you are one of those who booked or were thinking of booking, I apologize.

Ohhh...  although I couldn't go, that's a shame for those who did have the opportunity...    It did sound like a great idea...  cry

I really had too much going on to properly organize and advertise the cruise but I hope to try again in the future. I don't feel that the cruise got as much interest as I expected though.

This is a bummer. Sorry Pierre.

I am/was very very interested next time.  I just needed a single room.  I am not one to bunk with people, so I just needed more time to save for that luxury.

Maybe next time.  IT sounded like my idea of a dream vacation with my violin.  I am bummed that I couldn't work it out.. but it looks like it wouldn't have made a difference if I had booked.

Happy Sailing .....next time.   :)

That's a shame :-/, sorry things didn't work out. We just don't have the financials to afford something like that, and I'm sure there is others that have the same problem. Or if the do have the money, they just can't get off of work.

glad I'm not alone with that feeling. :-)

Sorry to hear this. I had expressed an interest but finances didn't work out this year, i'd already booked an expensive vacation for February.

If you decide to try again i'd definitely be interested, and i would probably also get a single occupancy room.

Very sorry to hear this, too. It would have been a dream vacation for me but due to a variety of circumstances, I just couldn't have participated this time.

I was looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing photos, although I would have been EXTREMELY jealous. :)

I hope it works out another time around for all concerned. Maybe there will be other opportunities for smaller-scale member meet-ups in the meantime.

Maybe this might give some perspective, i had my wife convinced to go but we were going to buy the tickets after Jan 20th. At least until the zita virus made headlines. Kinda out a kabash on those plans..

I received many similar emails after the cancelation but I was looking for more confirmations to insure a decent turn out. We invested a lot of money to book 20 rooms and kept those rooms for several months. We could have just canceled the rooms and allowed players to book their own but prices were completely different. Also, for me to give up a week of work I need to make a lot of sacrifices. Tons of catch up work when coming back. I wish there was a better way to plan this type of event.

Well hopefully we can do it again. Maybe make a sign up form with some very vague dates to gage interest next time before booking? Perhaps make a cruise commitee to help out :)

We hope your not out any cash for this. I as one would have loved to make the trip, but as vacation time is allotted by union seniority getting specific time off can sometimes be a challenge.

No worries Ripton. We had about 3 months to cancel. Don't remember exactly. We were reimbursed.

Aw, that's a real shame. I'd love to have gone but, honestly, I couldn't afford a cab ride let alone a cruise haha. Plus I'm in school. Pierre, just want to let you know, and I'm sure I speak for a lot of people on here, I really appreciate all the effort you put into running the forum and putting things like this and the group projects together. You've got to be one heck of a busy man haha

Sorry to hear the cancellation! What a bummer! It just wasn't a good time for me, I would want to go as a family but my husband has to work (he works during tax seasons) and financially I couldn't afford it especially it is right after I made a trip back to Malaysia.

For future event, may be we could start out with a survey on what are the point of interest, e.g., Florida, carribean, Alaska, etc. and who is/are interested in going.
