That's exactly what this is, by the way.

Blatant. Pandering.

Once the voting for the winner of the CVN-500 is done, I'm hoping to convince as many members as possible here to consider voting for my promotional video over on Violaman.com.

Questions you may have:

  1. Who are you, anyway? Fair question, given my seeming absence over the last few months. See my interview page for a better answer than I can likely give here. (Plus, it saves on a lot of typing) I'm also the Admin for the Violaman.com site, where I now spend most of my time, but that doesn't give me any advantages here. (…and it shouldn't influence your decision pro or con)
  2. Is your video the best? Well, that's depends on what you like. Personally, I'm going to go with "no*" for an answer on this one. The asterisk just means I'm naturally biased towards my own entry, so I could be lying here … but just a little.
  3. Why should YOU win this contest, HeadCheese? Well … because I'm asking. Nicely.

                                                                      see?
                                                                    thumbs-up

I don't know when/how/where the voting will take place, but I hope you will all think of me when the time comes. And when you're done thinking of me, don't forget to vote, too.

Also – don't be such a stranger over there. The promotional videos are all created to drum up new members and visitors to the site. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell that guy with the funny smell and cardboard sign you pass on your way to work or school every day. You know the guy. Probably a Violist looking for work or an awesome site dedicated to all things Viola. Bring him a sandwich while you're at it. Just not tuna-fish. He doesn't like tuna-fish. Or chicken-salad, either. Stick with something not all chopped-up and swimming in mayo. He's watching his calories. And trim the crusts off, too. Urgh… crusts…

Anyway, get the word out.

Thanks!

Nice to see you posting here again headcheese (thinking of my Rolling Stones Goats Head Soup album when I see your username). I went over to check that site, I'm sure it will grow over time just gotta do a lot of pandering ;-) I have no time to learn the viola with my schedule but interesting video. If I voted there I would have to vote for Jessica though. Claymation is some funny stuff. jimi-hendrix I did vote for your dog a while back ;-)

Your marketing is exactly what we need to help get violaman.com going. I was super impressed by your video.

Great job Keith; if only I had a second vote.  You'd helped me before on Violaman.com; you're a great resource too!

Actually, someone at Violman.com seems to have some concerns with the apparent fairness of an Admin being entered in the contest.

I will offer to withdraw…

It's not right. You are only a moderator because I asked you to be. You had the idea to start a Viola site. Nothing but punishments right?

I'm going to bump this back up to the top, because the voting has finally started.

Please remember your poor 'ol buddy HeadCheese when considering where to spend your vote in this little contest.

Remember all those nights I held your hair for you while you noisily regretted your 5th Jagermeister.cheers

Remember all those birthday and Christmas cards I've sent you over the years. birthday-cake "I sure wish my good buddy HeadCheese would win this contest!"

Remember the times I told the bill collectors and process servers that you weren't home and moved to South America. dunno ("No habla inglés…")

Remember all the good times we've shared? hats_off

You don't? facepalm Really? I guess the therapy is actually working for you…

Well, pretend you do and vote for your ol' good buddy, HeadCheese.

begbegbegbeg

Here's a handy link for you (see what a nice, helpful and deserving fellow I am?):

Thanks in advance! And remember a vote for HeadCheese is a vote for all those other things you like, too! Except for MGN, I betcha that dude's into some pretty freaky stuff… blink (just kidding … big love, Bro! Big love.)

Actually for all the attention you have given that forum you really deserve to win. Also it would be nice to have the winner be someone that we will see here from time to time instead of disappear like a some of the winners have done.

Good luck Keithcrossedfingers

Thanks, folks!
Be sure to tell all yours friends. And by "friends," I mean qualified, voting members of Fiddlerman and Violaman.

Better yet, call all your viola-playing friends (they're listed in your contacts somewhere below the leval of banjo and accordian players) and have them become active, contributing members on the site. Violaman.com could use some love…

Make you a deal: you vote, and I'll LOL… Especially if it's for me.

How's that shiny new violin treating you? I heard a rumor you won by one vote.
I voted once.
Coincidence?
Hmmm…wink

Bwahahaha.  Politicians don't even campaign this hard.  laugh

The CVN-500 is a nice little violin.  I have a thread bouncing around here somewhere where I compare it to my older instrument.
